LiDAR Surveying and Data Processing

ACI has advanced measuring equipment for LiDAR Surveying and Photogrammetry that includes airborne LiDAR, airborne LiDAR unmanned (drones), Mobile LiDAR, aerial photogrammetry, and echo sounder technology.

Selecting which 3-D scanning technology to use for a particular project can be challenging. ACI compares technologies to select the option that will quickly capture the necessary surveying data at the lowest cost to the client.

Terrestrial LiDAR provides a higher point density and accuracy in comparison with any other 3-D scan technology. However, time requirements and limited access to project sites can complicate the collection of terrestrial LiDAR information. By using airborne LiDAR, surveying data on all types of terrain, whether flat, wavy, or mountainous with or without vegetation, can be acquired.

Mapping generated through aerial photogrammetry also provides a cost-effective method of establishing an accurate digital base for tasks such as urban planning, terrain analysis, and forest management.

ACI uses bathymetric information from echo sounder technology to obtain surveying data near coastlines, in harbors, and near shores and banks, as well as to locate objects on the ocean floor.
