Funciona como &#8220;ojos&#8221; para los veh\u00edculos aut\u00f3nomos y ayuda a identificar la distancia a los objetos circundantes, as\u00ed como la velocidad o la direcci\u00f3n del veh\u00edculo. Sin embargo, este sensor LiDAR giratorio no permite observar simult\u00e1neamente la parte delantera y trasera de un coche. Afortunadamente, los ingenieros han creado una soluci\u00f3n a este problema.<\/p>\n<h3>Vista de 360<\/h3>\n<p>Un equipo de investigaci\u00f3n de POSTECH dirigido por el profesor Junsuk Rho y los doctorandos Gyeongtae Kim, Yeseul Kim y Jooyeong Yun consigui\u00f3 desarrollar un nuevo sensor LiDAR fijo (de estado s\u00f3lido) con una visi\u00f3n de 360\u00b0. Esta nueva tecnolog\u00eda, fabricada a partir de metasuperficie, puede ampliar enormemente el \u00e1ngulo de visi\u00f3n del LiDAR para reconocer objetos de forma tridimensional. El equipo pudo hacerlo modificando el dise\u00f1o y disponiendo las nanoestructuras de modo que formaran la metasuperficie, que es un dispositivo \u00f3ptico plano ultrafino de s\u00f3lo una mil\u00e9sima parte del grosor de un mech\u00f3n de pelo humano.<\/p>\n<h3>Reconocimiento de informaci\u00f3n en 3D<\/h3>\n<p>Lo mejor de los objetos en regiones de 360\u00b0 es que es posible extraer informaci\u00f3n tridimensional mediante la dispersi\u00f3n de m\u00e1s de 10.000 matrices de puntos de la metasuperficie. Este tipo de sensor LiDAR se utiliza para la funci\u00f3n de reconocimiento facial de Apple en los iPhones. Esta tecnolog\u00eda permite que tel\u00e9fonos m\u00f3viles, robots no tripulados y gafas de realidad virtual reconozcan la informaci\u00f3n tridimensional del entorno circundante fabricada con elementos nano\u00f3pticos. El profesor Junsuk Rho explic\u00f3 que &#8220;pueden controlar la propagaci\u00f3n de la luz en todos los \u00e1ngulos desarrollando una tecnolog\u00eda m\u00e1s avanzada que los dispositivos de metasuperficie convencionales&#8221;.<\/p>\n<p>Adem\u00e1s de todo esto, esta original tecnolog\u00eda permitir\u00e1 crear una plataforma de sensores de imagen 3D ultrapeque\u00f1a y de espacio completo.
